Ice Nine Kills hadn't completed their transformation into cinema-referencing horror-metal icons when they issued their third album. Nevertheless, Predator is marked with a mix of hatchet-swinging lyrical bloodbaths, and likewise features vocalist Spencer Charnas lore-building his way through melodic metalcore anthems about INK's unbreakable spirit. They were carving a niche for themselves in the heavy-music scene, and it was scary how good they were sounding.
