AFI's fourth studio album, originally released in 1999 on Nitro Records — the Ukiah, California band's breakthrough into the punk underground and the record that established their cult following. Produced by Sergie Loobkoff (Samiam) at Westbeach Recorders in Hollywood, Black Sails in the Sunset marked a significant artistic leap, weaving gothic and post-punk influences through their melodic hardcore foundation. Features standout tracks "Porphyria Cutanea Tarda," "Malleus Maleficarum," and "The Nephilim Rising." Reissued on vinyl.
