Originally released in 1994 on Peaceville Records, Terminal Spirit Disease is At the Gates' third studio album and a pivotal transitional record — bridging the progressive complexity of their early work with the more streamlined melodic death metal assault that would define their landmark follow-up, Slaughter of the Soul. Recorded at Fredman Studios in Gothenburg and produced by the band alongside Fredrik Nordström, the album includes three live bonus tracks recorded at Dynamo Open Air 1995.
