Meshuggah's second studio album, originally released on March 14, 1995 on Nuclear Blast — the record widely credited with inventing djent and establishing the band as one of the most technically formidable and intellectually uncompromising acts in extreme metal. Recorded at Soundfront Studios in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Meshuggah and engineer Daniel Bergstrand, the album's use of polyrhythmic guitar riffs played against a conventional drum framework created an entirely new sonic language. Tracks like "Future Breed Machine," "Beneath," and "Soul Burn" remain cornerstones of technical metal. This 30th anniversary pressing is newly remastered and pressed on limited gray, black, and white marble vinyl.
