Misfits didn't just play punk — they gave it a horror-movie soul. Formed in Lodi, New Jersey in 1977 by Glenn Danzig, with Jerry Only on bass and Doyle on guitar, the band mixed B-movie imagery, doo-wop melodies and pure speed into what became known as horror punk. Static Age, Walk Among Us and Earth A.D./Wolfsblood became cornerstones of hardcore, and the Crimson Ghost skull became one of the most recognizable symbols in all of rock. Decades later, the Fiend Club is still growing.
