Pegboy's debut full-length, originally released on September 15, 1991 on Quarterstick Records — produced by Iain Burgess at CRC (Chicago Recording Company). Founding Naked Raygun guitarist John Haggerty formed Pegboy with his brother Joe on drums and former Bhopal Stiffs members Larry Damore and Steve Saylors, debuting with the Three-Chord Monte EP in 1990 before releasing this essential document of the Chicago post-hardcore underground. The A.V. Club wrote in a retrospective review: "Skirting grunge, pop-punk, post-hardcore, and emo — all of which were erupting at the time — Strong Reaction has aged with a rugged grace that puts most of its contemporaries to shame." This reissue includes all four tracks from the Three-Chord Monte EP as bonus tracks, on limited yellow colored vinyl.
