Rites of Spring's debut and only studio album, originally released in 1985 on Dischord Records — one of the most important records in the history of punk and one of the foundational texts of what would later be called emo. Recorded at Inner Ear Studio in Arlington, VA with producer Don Zientara, the album captures Guy Picciotto, Eddie Janney, Michael Fellows, and Brendan Canty at the epicenter of Washington D.C.'s post-hardcore revolution, channeling raw emotional intensity through angular guitar work and Picciotto's cathartic vocal delivery. This remastered reissue features the complete original album alongside live recordings and the complete Rites of Spring discography.
