Slipknot's second studio album, originally released on August 28, 2001 on Roadrunner Records — produced by Ross Robinson and recorded at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, CA and Catamount Studios in Iowa City. Darker, heavier, and more extreme than their debut, Iowa is widely considered the band's most brutal and uncompromising statement, featuring "People = Shit," "Disasterpiece," "My Plague," and the harrowing 15-minute closer "Iowa." The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and went platinum in the US.
