The Cramps' debut studio album, originally released on January 23, 1980 on IRS Records — produced by Alex Chilton (Big Star) at Ardent Studios in Memphis and one of the founding texts of psychobilly and horror punk. Songs the Lord Taught Us captures Lux Interior, Poison Ivy, Bryan Gregory, and Nick Knox at their most feral, filtering swamp rockabilly, surf rock, and garage punk through a deeply warped sensibility. This RSD Essentials pressing is on limited Garbageman Grape colored vinyl.
