The New Catastrophes - Weather The Storm (Skeletunes Records Exclusive, Hand Numbered Limited Edition of 100)

Emerging from the old-school San Jose DIY scene, the latest record from The New Catastrophes is a whisky-stained love letter to 90's punk and emo.

“Weather the Storm” is the long-gestating third album from The New Catastrophes. The band was started back in 2001 by Paul Durias and Alex Mack as an offshoot of their previous band from 1997. Since then, the world has changed, the One Ring has been destroyed, and Thanos has been snapped out of existence. Band members have come and gone, and The New Catastrophes have featured an ever-evolving lineup of musicians with deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene.

After several false-starts and unfortunate mishaps, “Version 3.0” of the band sees Paul teaming up with longtime buddies Chris West (Plans for Revenge, Conway) and Andy Kugler (Plans for Revenge, Left of Christ). This new album also includes Gideon Berger (Useless ID, plus too many other bands to name drop) lending a helping hand on the drum kit.
