Weezer's self-titled debut album, commonly known as the Blue Album, originally released on May 10, 1994 on DGC Records — produced by Ric Ocasek at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. One of the defining alternative rock albums of the '90s, the Blue Album broke through on the strength of "Buddy Holly," "Undone – The Sweater Song," and "Say It Ain't So," blending power pop melodies with nerdy self-deprecation and Gen-X alienation. Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp, Brian Bell, and Patrick Wilson created one of the most beloved debut albums in rock history.
