X-Ray Spex - Obsessed With You (The Early Years) [Preorder]

An official release of early X-Ray Spex demo recordings from 1977, predating the celebrated debut album Germ Free Adolescents. The majority of these recordings feature original saxophonist Lora Logic and capture the raw, instinctive power of a band who arrived seemingly fully formed despite their youth — including early versions of debut single tracks "Oh Bondage, Up Yours!" and "I Am a Cliché." Poly Styrene's iconic vocal stylings are even more visceral here than on the final album, and an early take on "Germ Free Adolescence" carries subtle electronic influences that hint at directions the band never fully explored. Updated from the original 1991 release with new sleeve notes from Paul Dean and Lora Logic, and pressed on limited Day-Glo pink vinyl with insert.
